Born in Lisbon on March 14, 2000, Sofia Castanheira currently attends a degree in Fine Arts at the Superior School of Arts and Design of Caldas da Rainha.
During this period, she had the opportunity to experiment with various artistic areas, having participated in the group exhibition Ocupar o Corpo Ocupar o Museu, a performance presentation.

During secondary school, she was a student at the António Arroio Artistic School, in Lisbon. Where she took an artistic course specializing in Film and Video. In this course, it was possible to have experiences of collaboration with institutions such as the DocLisboa Film Festival or the association of Corações com Coroa.

As a final work for this course, she presented a short film entitled Terra de Minh`alma, which portrayed a small village on the outskirts of Viseu that had been one of the places most affected by fires in October 2017.
She is also part of groups of young people with different purposes such as volunteering, serving the community and responding to the Sustainable Development Goals proposed by the United Nations.
