Description:

The activity is divided in two parts: an introduction to Jurassic Palaeontology and a walk through the countryside.
A small introduction will be made about the different types of fossils e how these lasted until today. In the walk, we will walk through the surroundings of RAMA - through places of significant palaeontological interest, to observe the fossils “in situ”, and explain live the physical indicators for their presence in this territory.

  • Limited to 10 participants, by order of registration.
  • A walk of moderate difficulty for all ages, about 3Km.
  • Estimated duration of about 1h30 to 2h.
  • It is necessary to bring shoes and comfortable clothes, hat and water bottle.

Pedro Bonifácio

Graduated, in 2019, in Arts and Humanities in the Faculty of Letters from the University of Lisbon, has been dedicating to volunteering and communication work in the Sociedade de História Natural (SHN).
Since 2016, Pedro is part of the SHN team, in the Palaeontology lab. Here, he organizes and does guided tours, both with schools and the general public, teaches and manages teams of voluntaries and is responsible for the proper working of the lab. Furthermore, has been developing new techniques for fossil preparation, has participated in multiple palaeontological excavations and has made several training actions, such as workshops, based on fossil preparation.
