Marta Wengorovius
She graduated in Painting in 1988 from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Lisbon. From 1989 to 1992 she was a grantee of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon, and in 1990 she received a scholarship from the Luso-American Development Foundation in New York, Washington and Philadelphia. She was Academic Observer in 1993 at Goldsmith College, London. Coordinated, with RuiSanches, the Summer Academy for Plastic Artists, Estudos Gerais da Arrábida - Conferências do Convento, 1994. In 1994, she received the Painting Prize of the Latin Union. She has a Master's degree in Visual Arts from the University of Évora. PhD student in Contemporary Art at Colégio das Artes, Universidadede Coimbra where she is developing the thesis Um, dois e muitos.
Her plastic and personal research is multidisciplinary, dialoguing with other artistic and scientific disciplines. In 2012 she creates the method "Um, dois e muitos" that begins with the works: Cabana de Leitura –Biblioteca Um, dois e muitos (2012), followed by Um, dois e muitos – uma ilha em exposição (2016) and Escola Nómada (beginning of 2016).
She has exhibited individually since 1989.
