Cristina Ataíde

Viseu,1951. Lives and works in Lisbon. Graduated in Sculpture by ESBAL, Lisbon.
Equipment Design Course, ESBAL, Lisbon.
Production Director of Sculpture and Design at Madein, Alenquer from 1987 to 1996 where she worked with Anish Kapoor, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Keit Sonnier, Matt Mullican, among others.
Guest Professor at the Lusophone University, Lisbon, from 1997 to 2012.
She has been exhibiting regularly since 1984 and large and site-specific installations play an important role in her exhibitions. Her work, often done on a journey, transits between sculpture and drawing, photography and video. Her concern with nature and its preservation is one of the constants of her work and research.
