Claudia Lima

Born in 1956 in Rio de Janeiro.

From 1961 to 70, she participated in several collective exhibitions at the museum, being several times awarded and invited to represent the school in international events with her work immediately reproduced in magazines such as “Gam” in an article by critic Mário Pedrosa. In 1967, as a representative of MANM and Brazil, she obtained the gold medal at an international painting exhibition organized by the United Nations. “CAMINHO DE CORPO E ALMA…” In 1979, she graduated in Law from Cândido Mendes in Rio de Janeiro where she participates in the 1st Plastic Arts Exhibition organized by the University. In 1980, she took up residence in Lisbon and began her painting course at AR-CO. In 1984 she attended the Aubusson International School of Decorative Art in France with a grant from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, devoted herself to tapestry and participated in the 102nd Salon des Femmes Peintres et Sculpteurs as a representative of Portugal. In 1987 she collaborated in the formation of the Cultural Cooperative “The Art of Tapestry and Textile”. She designs some installations, namely for the Costume Museum (96) and for the CPLP Pavilion at EXPO 98. She is represented in several countries through her works.
