RAMA
RAMA – Artistic Residency, located in the small villages of Maceira and Alfeiria, in the municipality of Torres Vedras, west part of Portugal, was founded in 2020 and is aimed at national and international artists, researchers and curators who want to develop their research and experimentation work in multidisciplinary areas, crossing contemporary art with science, education and territory.
RAMA organizes artistic residencies, workshops, exhibitions, lectures and outdoor activities, promoting interaction between artists and audiences interested in learning, experimenting and sharing, fostering the relationship with the local community, culture, crafts and traditional knowledge, history and the rural landscape, deepening the knowledge of the region.
Since the beginning, RAMA has the support of the Municipality of Torres Vedras, the Parish Councils of Carvoeira and Carmões and the Parish Councils of Dois Portos and Runa, to which the villages Alfeiria and Maceira, belong respectively.

Paulo Brighenti
Born in 1968. Art studies at Ar.Co where he taught from 2001-2014 and Drawing Department Head from 2008-2014.
Co-founder of the MArt school in 2013, where he taught and was pedagogical coordinator until December 2019.
Exhibits regularly since 1996.
Drawing Award 2002, Fundação Arpad Szenes - Vieira da Silva, Lisbon.

Ana Margarida Sousa
Born in 1965, in Lisbon, where she studied Public Relations and Advertising at Instituto de Novas Profissões.
In 1989, started her career in Advertising Agencies, being one of the beginner team of RSCG, today Havas, where stands out the management of Lisbon 94 - European Capital of Culture advertising.
Later at Ogilvy & Mather and d'Arcy / Leo Burnett she continued her path as Account Manager for multinational clients.
In 1998, moved her residence to Maceira village, and in the past years, along with her business activity, dedicated herself to volunteering and the development of local associations.
Ana Anacleto
Born in 1975.
She has a degree in Sculpture from FBAUL and a postgraduate degree in Curatorial Studies from FBAUL/ Gulbenkian. She is a fellow at HdK (University of Berlin). Currently, she is
PhD student in Contemporary Art at the College of Arts – University of
Coimbra.
She was a specialist in contemporary art at the IAC-MC (2001-2003), assistant
and coordinator of Julião Sarmento's studio (2003-2015), and curator and
curatorial coordinator at MAAT/ Fundação EDP (2015-2018).
Since 2003 she has been working as an independent curator, having
designed curatorial and editorial projects for various museums and institutions
national and international: Serralves Museum, Calouste Foundation
Gulbenkian, Culturgest, MACE, CAV, CAPC, College of Arts, Atelier-Museum
Júlio Pomar, Fundação Carmona e Costa, Lisbon Municipal Galleries, Appleton

She has carried out research, analysis and consultancy for private collections.
She has published essays, texts and articles in catalogs and monographs; she collaborated with
XXI – Ter Opinião, Pangloss, L+Arte, Umbigo and Contemporânea magazines; realized
public communications at conferences, seminars and academic events; realized
thematic guided tours in collaboration with various museum institutions; she went
member of award and selection juries for Awards, Research Grants and
Artist Residencies; and held several public conversations with artists within the scope
of various exhibition projects.
She is a visual arts curator and programmer at CAV, in Coimbra, where she develops
since 2020 the exhibition cycle “Museum of Obsessions”.
She is a member of the Commission for the Acquisition of Contemporary Art from the Collection of
State – MC.
She teaches the chair “Práticas de Curadoria” at the Postgraduate Course in Curatorship, at FCSH
– NOVA, in Lisbon.
Catarina Gentil
Born in 1998. Fine Arts, specialising in sculpture, at the Faculdade de Belas Artes in Porto, finishing the course as the student with the best final average in 2020. In 2021 she did an internship at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum of Modern Art in Venice, in the education department. She exhibits regularly since 2020, and participates in several artistic residencies, was granted a scholarship by RAMA in 2021. She currently lives in Mafra where she continues her artistic practice.
