A commented tour through the countryside, observing nature, flora and the recognition of species, their characteristics, involving questions about ecology and sustainability.

- A walk of moderate difficulty for all ages, about 3Km.
- Estimated duration of about 1h30 to 2h.
- It is necessary to bring shoes and comfortable clothes, hat and water bottle.

Conceição Colaço
Coordinator of the Research Area Agro-Environmental Education and Dissemination of Knowledge
Invited assistant researcher at the Centre of Applied Ecology Professor Baeta Neves (CEABN), of the Instituto Superior de Agronomia (ISA), of the University of Lisbon and researcher at the InBIO Associated Laboratory (Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology Research Network).
She is a Forest Engineer from the Instituto Superior de Agronomia and holds a Diploma in Advanced Studies in Environmental Education and a PhD in Education from the University of Santiago de Compostela. Since 2000 she coordinates the Environmental Education Programme of CEABN/ISA. She coordinated the "Environmental Education Manual for Forests" of the National Forestry Authority, co-author of the Manual "Forests of Cape Verde: a good to protect" edited by FAO/UN, and other editions for the general public such as the CTT agendas for international years for biodiversity and forests. In 2007/8 she was a consultant to FAO/UN in Cape Verde on forest fire prevention. She has participated in several European research projects both in the area of forest fire risk and forest education. In recent years her main research topics have been the social dimension of forests and forest fires.
