(Leiria, 1976)
lives and works between Leiria and Lisbon.
She holds a PhD in Fine Arts – Drawing and a Master in Art Theories, at the F.B.A.U.L. (Lisbon), where she also graduated in Fine Arts-Painting. Adjunct professor at I.P.T. (Tomar) and at Colégio das Artes-Univ.Coimbra (Doctorate of Contemporary Art), she is an integrated member of the investigation center Techn&Art – I.P.T. and Collaborating member at CEIS20/U.C., of the U.C.
A visual artist, Rita GV works in the field of drawing and three-dimensionality and her work has been questioning relationships between private memory and the collective commons of inhabited places, highlighting relationships between everyday practices and artistic procedures that these practices constitute in her work, when considering the creative difference achieved in view of the expectations with which the actions are performed. In all of these practices, the use of water is crucial, namely in the production of handmade cotton paper which, in her work, is the genesis of the design and installations.

Tatiana Macedo, born in Portugal in 1981, of Portuguese and Angolan descent, lives and works in Lisbon. She is an artist with an interesting and consistent experience acquired mainly during long periods of residence abroad. Her work is transdisciplinary between the practice of installation, photography, film-essay, video and sound, with an interesting exploratory dimension and revealing simultaneously a great technical, critical and conceptual rigour. In 2020 she was the artist in Focus at the Interseccion Festival - Contemporary Audiovisual Art Festival of Coruña, which dedicated two days to the exhibition of her videographic and filmic work.

"The importance that images represent in the creative universe of this artist is recognised, but it is also undeniable that this universe distends itself in a myriad of formulations from these images as symbols of a fragmented culture, wild if we like, voracious and savage in the way it leads us, under the guise of these symbols and referents, to a permanent crossroads that unfolds in multiple and anachronistic spaces."

“Alexandre Baptista's work is based on compositions that bring together paintings, texts and images from different origins, articulated in the search for a new entity. In these works, the artist appropriates writings and old black and white photographs to, with the introduction of painting, problematize a (re)construction of meaning, equating the notion of coexistence, individuality and series.”

E deixar a pergunta anti-poética: então qual a arte dos dejectos; o que renasce dos escombros?

“At first glance, the exuberance of the landscapes represented by the artist Pedro Vaz infects our soul, the harmony of the forms, the capture of light and the chromatic calm awaken in us a feeling of empathy. We know this place, it is dear to us, precious and pristine. A closer look at the set of shapes, we move away from the first, elementary questions that evoke nature, to enter a field of transition, of approximation. Pedro Vaz is part of a group of artists that has been systematically exploring the approximation between nature and culture to make possible different sensibilities from those generated from the colonization of natural spaces.”

“… Luís Silveirinha invents figures, universes, beings; his drawing does not come from photographic images or from other arts. It is not an appropriation or a reproduction, but a fabulation instigated by visual memories and mental images, which, on the surface, lets see - and in this there is a generosity which is indifferent to the “need” of any teleological direction (of art) - motifs, contours, things, landscapes, relationships. ”

"In art, theory is of little use to me without practice. That is why poetic thinking makes more sense than rational thinking. Doing, touching, sharing, interacting, collaborating, creating, is much better than locking myself in drawers that the other may need to understand me. "

Art derives from the oldest ethic - technique; Nature refers to the place from where everything sprouts; the city is circumscribed in the perimeter drawn in the open space around it - the wild and urban come together.
