Haile Binns
Haile Binns is a Jamaican American Artist born and raised in New York. She creates art from materials in her intermediate environment. Her art process is a philosophy of transformation by assemblage. She is interested in topics that explore racial and economic difference, gender, and African diaspora.
She works largely with a combination of natural and found objects. She transforms her findings into sculptures in map like compositions.
During this residency Haile will be exploring themes of water, memory, beauty, and light using handmade paper she creates in the studio.
