2011.04.09: PERFORMANCE CORAL criada por LUIS BRAGANÇA GIL para o CORAL PARADOXAL. Carpe Diem, Palácio Pombal, Lisboa. “A besta humana e outras bestas”, programa de concerto de Luis Bragança Gil. Um concerto-interactivo percorria os diferentes espaços, interiores e exteriores deste muito singular palácio, apropriando-se de cada uma das suas potencialidades arquitectónicas e acústicas, interagindo igualmente com as diferentes peças escultóricas, pinturas, instalações que se encontravam nesses mesmos espaços (Exposições organizadas pela Carpe Diem Arte e Pesquisa).

Choral Performance, 2011, created for the Paradoxal Choir. Presented at Carpe Diem, Pombal Palace, Lisbon. An interactive concert that toured the different interior and exterior spaces of the palace, appropriating each of its architectural and acoustic potentialities, interacting with the different installations and sculptures present in these spaces.

Luís Bragança Gil

Luís Bragança Gil (Paris, 1961) is an artist who expresses himself mainly through music - as a composer, improviser, performer, conductor, singer…. - but also as a sound artist through the creation of Installations, almost always site-specific.

More recently he added video and photography to his palette of expression materials. Creator of Musical Theatre - Libentíssimo / 1999,2002; Deus, Pátria, Revolução / 2009; Depois da Revolução / 2014 - for which, in addition to composing music, most of them also stage and conduct. 

Since 1986 he makes Performance, in a mix of diverse artistic disciplines.

Since 1991 he has been a music teacher for the education of dancers, at the national conservatory's school of dance of Portugal, Escola de Dança do Conservatório Nacional.

Since 1981 he has been a choir director (conductor), having founded and directed countless amateur choirs in Portugal.

Since 2013 he has dedicated himself to Free Improvisation, through his Creative Conducting method, with instrumental and vocal ensembles, actors or dancers.

The installation Imersão /1997, by the artists duo Luis Bragança Gil and Sérgio Taborda, was acquired for the collection of the EDP Foundation in 2015.

Two albums/CD were edited with music of his own: Cantata Sobre o Vulcão - live recording of the work's debut concerts (Corda Bamba edition, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Portugal); Ode ao Vinho, live recording of the debut concerts of this Cancioneiro created by LBG (edition C.V.T.V./Autor, with the support of the Municipality of Torres Vedras).
